Mandatory Relationships – The Teen Fad

Random Person: Jaylen, why are you single?
Me: I don”t know, maybe because I”m really picky…
Random Person: Okay, then tell me what you want, and I”ll be your matchmaker.
Me: Well, if you”re really up for the challenge, go for it!

This is the usual discussion, that happens when someone discovers that I”m single. When they usually discover this, they”re extremely surprised.

Why is there a fad, that makes so many dependent on a girlfriend/boyfriend? You won”t believe how many times, that I”ll see a post on Twitter or Facebook that reads:

“I”m sooo tired of being single!”

“I really need someone to call mines”

STOP, you don”t need anyone to survive. You”re not a slave owner, so you could never call anyone yours (not really until you”re married).

Only 1 out of every 100 relationships that I see in high school, actually has months of happiness. The other 99 out of 100 relationships, are what I consider “roller-coaster” relationships. One online casino dgfev day they”re dating & happy, but the next day they hate each other & are “broken up”, then the next day they”re happy again.

So, why am I really single?

  • Honestly, it”s because I”m too picky. I”ve always wanted someone who fits my brand. I”m someone who fights for what I want, no matter what the obstacles. I”m a man of god, who declares Ephesians 3:20 over my life constantly.  God will do exceedingly, abundantly above all that I ask or think. I want people to have the opportunity to say, “She”s his Michelle Obama.”
  • I”ve had some bad experiences…
  • I”m not in a rush to find someone

Guess this is all the free time that I have to write on this topic, I have to head back to work! How about you go back to focusing on your education or career, rather than searching for the “right one”.

Wait for her/him to come, just like me!
